Argente Brun: a breed shaped by people
Knowledge for understanding and preserving Argente Brun.
ARBA explains that the Brun joined its recognized Argenté breeds after successful presentation by Charmaine Wardrop at the 92nd convention in Portland, Oregon. Its chocolate-based coat places it beside, but separately from, the Champagne and Crème. This recognition story should not be confused with the origin of every European brown silvered rabbit. Creation, revival, importation and acceptance are different events that may occur in different countries. The American breed world should state which population and standard an article discusses. That clarity is more useful than assigning one date to a much longer family of silvered rabbits.
