ARBA records German development, arrival in the United States in 1923 and initial recognition in 1924. The Rhinelander specialty club's history describes a later absence followed by restored recognition in 1975. That is a reintroduction story rather than uninterrupted American continuity. The two periods should appear separately in a timeline. They also show why losing a breed locally does not necessarily mean it has disappeared everywhere. The remaining foreign population and renewed breeder interest can provide a route back, provided the historical and contemporary identities are documented.
