Old population estimates need their dates
Knowledge for understanding and preserving Crème d’Argent.
Crème d’Argent — Watch. Current Conservancy list, checked October 4, 2026.
The Conservancy's account cites a global estimate made in 2006. That figure is historical evidence, not a present-day live counter. A helpful library keeps the date and original attribution visible and looks for a newer count before updating numerical claims. The current priority category can be reported independently of that old estimate. Teaching this distinction lets readers understand scarcity without pretending that every surviving rabbit has been counted.
