The Poultry Club's Redcap account combines a very large comb with foraging, laying and table-poultry usefulness. Its judging description assigns considerable importance to the comb, illustrating how one visible feature can dominate exhibition attention. Teaching should still show the entire bird and its practical background rather than turn preservation into a search for the biggest possible comb.
