The society describes an upright, sprightly bird with a moderately long body, narrowing toward the tail. The single comb is upright in the female as well as the male. Achieving a completely dark neck and tail against a pale body has challenged breeders. Teach that pattern together with proportions and carriage. A color resemblance alone cannot establish stock identity, and difficulty producing show markings does not make the underlying population less worthy of preservation.
