The Rare Poultry Society links Lakenvelder development with an area extending from the Netherlands into Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, where Lakenfelder is the spelling used. It records British importation in 1901 and exhibition at Shrewsbury in 1902. These regional connections explain why a single modern country label can oversimplify the history. The matching cattle pattern is a naming comparison, not evidence of a biological relationship between cattle and chickens.
