Crèvecœur teaching should connect its French place identity and traditional table role with its crested appearance. The spelling variants should not create multiple supposed breeds. Historical production reputation belongs to a particular farming context; it is not a contemporary trial result for every flock. Preserve both recognizable type and functional care rather than treating the crest as the whole conservation objective.
