Porter's color reference treats the Bronze pattern as the baseline against which other inherited color factors are described. Its abbreviated notation indicates a bronze base without the listed modifying factors. This is a practical breeder model for plumage, not a statement that every Bronze bird carries an identical genome.

Most importantly, that pigmentation model cannot distinguish a heritage Standard Bronze from a modern Broad Breasted Bronze by itself. Structural and reproductive selection created differences while bronze feathering persisted. An image or color label must therefore be accompanied by accurate population identification. Standard weights describe mature breeding ideals, while commercial market weights concern different ages and often a different production population.
