The Giant Chinchilla Rabbit Association identifies Edward H. Stahl as the developer and recalls the doe born on Christmas Day, 1921, known as Million Dollar Princess. ARBA records recognition in 1928. The association's historical essay compares successive standards and describes changing preferences for weight and fur. That makes the breed more than a story about making a rabbit larger: breeders also negotiated what size, coat structure and commercial purpose should mean. Historical weight limits belong to their own editions; they should not replace today's standard. The lesson is that a breed can retain its name while selection priorities evolve.
