ARBA gives the Blanc de Hotot an 11-pound maximum and highlights the white coat with black eye markings. Hotot Rabbit Breeders International's history explains how appreciation of those markings developed over time. The Dwarf Hotot should not be folded into this breed world merely because it shares a similar visual motif. Compare the whole animal rather than treating eye bands as a complete identification test. A good caption names the breed, identifies a partial view when necessary and avoids suggesting that every white rabbit with dark eye markings has documented Blanc de Hotot ancestry.
