A miniature donkey needs companionship, dry shelter, and appropriate hoof care despite its small stature. Its companion role does not mean unrestricted treats or rich grazing are suitable: general donkey guidance emphasizes avoiding overfeeding and monitoring condition. Equipment and access should fit the individual. Selecting for a smaller animal does not replace selecting for healthy structure and useful function.
