Minorca identity combines a substantial Mediterranean layer with conspicuous earlobes and comb. Its large white eggs explain historical appeal, while that appearance creates climate considerations for the actual flock. Separate recognized comb and color forms when comparing birds. A useful egg-size reputation should not become an unsupported promise of identical annual output under every management system.
