The d'Uccle's beard helps distinguish it from the Booted Bantam. Its diminutive body, ornamental feathering and Belgian breeding identity should be explained together. A color label such as Mille Fleur describes a pattern rather than a complete breed identification. Dry, clean housing is a practical consideration for feather-footed birds, interpreted against the needs of the actual flock.
